Hi, does it still happen if you deactivate "track" for your midi devices input in Live's midi preferences?

what do you use for triggering the midi, maybe a synth?

if you use a synth, depending on your soundcard / settings it can be that if local is not switched off, the keys trigger the hardware synth and you hear that coming thru...

or check if you have activated more then one channel for midi.

and you might trigger a synth or Impulse on that 'other' activated channel at the same time...

then i would start trouble shooting the midi activation button[s] on the channel... like '80' said.

also are you sending notes or CC, are you sending / receiving on a particular channel or omni?

happens even when no midi is mapped and just use the mouse to trigger tracks.

8O , then it sounds like something is really screwed... which version of 8 are you running?

i understand correctly that it triggers one note (from a synth) or a drum hit when you trigger a clip with the mouse?

can you tell what sound / drum hit it is, i mean by that is the sound (synth) or drum hit part of the set? is the synth where the sound comes from on one of the tracks, respectively impulse or a drum rack?

Curiouser and curiouser...!

Does it happen with both audio clips and midi clips? For midi tracks does it still happen if the track's MIDI To field is set to No Output?

its a key sound, when triggering impulse and on the vocal clip. using live 8 then got the patch from ableton for 8.1 or 8.2 the last update for live 8.

Download 8.0.5 anyway and give it go there - keep your current version in case you want to go back to it.

sorry you confuse me...

live 8.1 / 8.2 ??? you mean the latest 8.0.5 right?

and what 'key' sound is a sound from a keyboard or synth being part of your set?

vocal clip in a different track... sorry, please try to be clear and explain a bit in detail...

sounds like the GM midi synth on his onboard sound card is also being triggered.

computers usually have a synth built into them for playing midi data that the computer might encounter (like when your mom visits some site with dancing teddy bears and there's a midi song playing.) go into your onboard synth via the control panel and turn it off or change the midi channel it's on.

make sense?
