Effect Latency

Ok - I've run the audio hardware setup project and now am happy with the response when recording. My fulltrip latency is running around 26.5ms. If I use Live as an effect rack in a live situation and ONLY monitor the effect outputs (not the direct signals) - will "Driver Error Compensation" offset the effects or is that only put into use for recording purposes?
