MacBook Air: is the 4200rpm HDD good for Live?

I love macs. Macbook air is completely retarded though, especially for anything to do with music. Pay more for no disk drive, small crappy hard drive, less usb ports, no firewire etc. The thing is crippled.

It is the wrong choice man. 13" macbook pro for sure.

I'm the biggest Mac fanboy you know and I even think the Macbook Air is a stupid choice here for music of any capacity. Beyond that it's also the stupidest priced computer they make. They misinterpreted "less is more" as meaning "less options for more money". The Macbook Air user transcends all other blind fanboys.

Wow - get a grip

Its $1799 vs the comparable $1599 13" SSD MBP. Calm down.

Its not a weak computer. It would out perform the $2700 MBP rev 1 (3 years ago) I am trying to replace that runs Live right now.

The deal killer for me is the single USB port because of audio latency through a hub - plain and simple.

I value the size and weight of the MBA more than having a DVD drive, a firewire port (which I don't use), and having $200 in my pocket.

It doesn't make me stupid, retarded, or a bigger fanboy than you just because I lust after that size and weight. Traveling is my world, I have different values than you.

The end result is the same for me - its not going to work because of the port.
