Sounds like he might be the devil that Frank Zappa wrote about in the song "Titties and Beer". If you have a drumkit and he starts beating the shit out of them with extreme skill, just tell him to let go of his pickle. That will throw his evil ass for a loop.Good luck. A drug called Zyprexa may help when all else fails.

lol, such an excellent questionUKRuss wrote:I'm pretty intrigued to understand how a second world war bomber can have a ghost...fun story though.![]()
I had a decorator in last year and he had the best take on it I've ever heard.
He suddenly asked if i believed in ghosts, I said no.
He said, 'No, me neither. I mean, where would they all hide?'

If you have seen one > then you know the truth and its all good.
(But its re-assuring to know that other people have seen it too)
...
Skepticism is healthy,
Its how you go about it that can make you an idiot.
I think its weird that people who have never seen one believe they exist
without an account from someone reliable that has seen one.
BTW.

I love the way he describes the bugfix/updates or whatever as "incremental love"

Re: Theres a REAL demon in my house!!!!
After attending Seminary and working on a Bachelors Degree in Theology I spent 3 years as a Priest. I have heard many first and second hand stories regarding demonic activity. Coupled with this, both of my parents basically spent their entire adult working lives as Psychiatric Doctors, Nurses, with my 67 yr old mother still going strong. I have also heard some serious shit from their perspective regarding functional instability. I can safely say with some certainty that the majority of so called demonic, angelic or ghostly cases were simply the result of self imposed, long term conditioning by people who were just too scared to think any different. Literally figments of imagination.
However, there are a few examples that I have been personally associated with that cannot be dismissed by mental instability or misinterpretation of events. I hold to a view that there is a range of activity that can occur within peoples awareness, that simply are not fully explainable yet. Ghosts, demons, angels, elves, fairies, forces etc are simply current forms of trying to explain these sorts of things. They are not foolproof and definitive explanations.
Psychic phenomenon is another branch to consider. Yes there are the stories of the con artists and their accomplices, but there are still some peoples experiences which raise more questions than quick cast it aside answers.
A personal story
When I was 15 yrs old, I made a $50 bet with a class mate. One Saturday night in a drunken state, he and three others came to my house in the early hours of the morning to 'collect' his money, or take it out on me. I spent about 15 mins with this fellow on my front door step, in my pj's, scared shitless that I was gonna get pulverized cause I didn't have the money. They eventually left, after pulling some shrubs from my mums garden and making a bit of a mess. I later learnt, that the reason why they did not beat the shit out of me was because of the friend I had standing behind me in the hallway. I was home alone.

Yes. They all saw the 'person.' I did not. I sensed nothing. I had no idea until I was told quite some time later.alex.the.forge wrote:that is pretty freaky!gjm wrote:I later learnt, that the reason why they did not beat the shit out of me was because of the friend I had standing behind me in the hallway. thats just a sad excuse by those people; they simply wimped out.
Re: Theres a REAL demon in my house!!!!
Yeah, definitely an option. However they were mean mother fcukers with a reputation for the opposite. Still even bad boys need an excuse every now and then to not follow through.friend_kami wrote:thats just a sad excuse by those people; they simply wimped out.gjm wrote:I later learnt, that the reason why they did not beat the shit out of me was because of the friend I had standing behind me in the hallway. Here is another interesting one.
During my time as a Priest, I spent about 60% of the time running a youth program. I got involved with a family whose 18 yr old son started attending the youth group on Firday nights. This family were not religious, nor church goers. They were from India, mum being a teenage (arranged marriage bride). This lad though began to tell me that every now and then he would see a man with a purple cape, like he was following him around. He would show up all over the place. There were other issues with the lad, Tourette's being one of them, which he was taking medication for. My first instinct (based on my parents influence and experience with mental health) was to approach this as a developing case of mental illness that was at a stage that needed something significant done for the boy. I arrange a visit with the family, which turned into a dinner invitation. Once the ice was broken, they were relieved to have somebody to talk to about their son. It wasn't the Tourettes's they were concerned about as they had been managing this quite fine for a couple of years now. It wasn't the man in the purple cape either. What they could not process, were a number of events similar to this: One night the mum was woken from sleep because of full blown arguing coming from the sons bedroom. She heard two different voices, noises as if an aggressive scuffle was occurring, things being thrown around. She got out of bed, walked down the hall for a better listening position, and was convinced the son had an unwanted guest in the house. In her concern, she reached to open the bedroom door. As soon as she touched the handle, everything stopped. She opened the door and expected to find a trashed room and an intruder. What she found was her son fast asleep, and everything in the room in order. The son never remembered anything, but the mother was absolutely convinced of her experience. There were many like this that they did not know how to process.
There are lots of ways to dismiss this type of thing, mental illness being one of them. But, the wider story left some gaps for me that I could not fill with easy outs like, she was under stress, or on drugs. Again, its not my story, but theirs. Made for an interesting work week.

yes,a nd when you consider that mental illness is passed on from generation to generation and sits in your dna, its even easier to dismiss at that.
fun story though, but i dont believe her for one bit. i believe you when you say that this is what have happened to them according to them, but i dont believe it happened anywhere else except in their own minds.
