Video Graphics...

Post by JuanSOLO » Mon Sep 21, 2009 11:48 pm

I made this Graphic for a friend of mine. Thought some of you guys might dig it.

I edited the Audio to a .mov clip in Ableton. Anyone else doing similar stuff or making graphics for live gigs should post their stuff.

I will throw up more when I get them finished. Currently I am woking on a Video that will have Ableton GUI elements coming out of a laptop screen and devouring the guy who's making the music.

Enjoy

I feel like I've seen alot of these before...

what are ya'llz using?

I'm trying to get into some more advanced visual stuff, but so far all I have is a little bit of knowledge with quartz composer and motion.

if anyone wants to chat video with me, I'd greatly appreciate it!

No wonder, you live in Canada. I was in working in Quebec.

I use mainly After Effects, Lightwave and XSI.

Nice stuff for sure. You gotta wit through the long beginning though. I would love to see some of your stuff that is just for fun and not so much ad oriented. Don't get me wrong, the reel is way out impressive, I imagine I would be really WOW'd by just some absttract visuals or something that was like just your creative mind gone wild on video.

I use MAYA and After Effects mainly. I also use Trapcode plugs for After Effects, and have just gotten into Nuke to try and do some more advanced compositing. I am also trying to wrap my mind around Jitter hoping to get some cool interactive visuals for performing live. Currently I play video clips in Ableton I made in After Effects and project them while my band is doing it's thing.

I wouldn't neccisarily say there was "more advanced" video, maybe just a more complex way of doing it or perfoming it. Some of the coolest stuff I have seen has beeen far from advanced. When I think advanced I think of something like infared cameras capturing body motion and that data altering visual and audio parameters on a huge LED screen. Or better yet, multiple LED scrims set up to achieve Z space to appear as 3D realtime particle affects run off a gaming engine that surrounds the performers. ALL of it Real Time affected by motion, audio, and midi controllers.
