1. Add a Max MIDI Effect to a track.
2. Open it and edit it.
3. Switch back to Live without saving.
4. Delete the device being edited.
5. When/if asked if you want to save, hit "Don't Save".
6. Now switch back to Max and attempt to save the edited patcher from Max.
I've gotten at least three different results following these same steps. Sometimes it just closes the patcher when you choose not to save (as it should). Sometimes it leaves it open, but you can't save it anywhere (Save As does nothing). Sometimes it closes the patcher without even asking if you want to save.
I can't consistently repro this.

Can't try right now, but opening in Max a MfL device is not supported. I guess the recommended way is to select all, copy, then in max create a new patcher, paste.

We are in the process of trying to stabilize this behavior, and hope to have something uniform in an upcoming beta.
