Drum Rack question

Hello All,
I have a question that's been bugging me. I have created a custom-kit in a drum rack to play on my Nanopad. Trouble is when I trigger the crash it only plays for as long as I hold the pad down. I know there's a way to get the crash to play right to the end of the sample but can't figure out how. In fact, I think it used to do it, but it might have stopped after I started using Sampler rather than simpler as the player. I have reverted back to simpler now, but the problem persists. Anyone know how to do this? Thanks
