Mixing Reggae
Mixing Reggae
Hey people, do any of the djs here mix reggae? Im wondering how you handle warping where there are natural tempo changes that you kinda wanna preserve. I don't really want to flatten the tempo on these tracks... do you just warp the beginning and the end or something?
Re: Mixing Reggae
Im not in to djing atall, but i think you can use pitch mode as a turntable,do not warp tracks if you want original tempo.
Re: Mixing Reggae
just remix a bit the song only for crossfading
Re: Mixing Reggae
isnt everyone in the crowd too high to notice bad mixing anyway?
Re: Mixing Reggae
you could probably just roughly warp the start and ends of the tracks then only mix at the end of a track into the beginning of the next. or just make sure the '1' is spot on every few measures so when you mix between them they'll mix smoothly.
oh and a word to practice your DJing so you're less dependent on warping but you probably know that. had to be said...

Um, is it possible to DJ with Live without using warping?? I sorta thought if you were gonna use Live, you had to pre-warp, or be very fast at warping. Can you beatmatch manually?
Re: Mixing Reggae
the nudge buttons help with that. you can have warp off in Live.
