Rendering Latency ?

Post by drscissors » Thu Feb 17, 2005 9:33 am

HI -

...the following thing i do not understand:

if I render a single track, single Audioclip, lets say a Kickloop absolutely precisely cut to the downbeat, the resulting audiofile after rendering shows that there is a little pause between start i.e. left corner of the sample until the waveform i.e the formerly precisely cut original starts....the rest of the beats look correct...
different latency settings (neither for the soundcard nor latency compensation in "Live" itself) changed this result....and there is no plugin in the audiostream...
My Setup:
Powerbook Titanium/550, RAM 768MB, ext.Firewire Drive, Hammerfall DSP
OS 9.2.2

cheers and peace

thanx

Rendering

Post by carllarkos » Thu Feb 17, 2005 7:05 pm

Hello Dr sissors.

When i render single tracks, i always put a 1 bar gap at the begining so i can cut/edit it in what ever program i'm putting it into, hope i'm not barking up the wrong tree.

yes i'm having the same problem...if i render a loop in the arrange window ...when i imported it back has an offset at the start....i already have been emailing techsup...i tried every setting possible....but nothing helped...so they told me to look in the forums...
they can't reproduce the problem...have you tried to email them? maybe if we are more having the same problem they start to look into it....
thank you

Hi folks,

indeed we would need something like a certain Live set to reproduce this.
When you have the problem with the offset in the rendered file please try this:

- Instead of rendering make a resampling from Master Out and check if the offset is there too
- If you have VST(i)s or AUs in this song, remove them and try the rendering ti check the offset again

If you can reproduce this bug with a certain Live set, please try to reduce the song as much as possible and send it to me. With "Reduce" I mean to remove as much plugs, tracks, clips as possible. Especially the song should contain as less as much VST(i)s or AUs, because it makes it much harder to reproduce.

regards,
Alex
