E-Piano MK 1 sounds puny

I received my Ableton Suite 8 box in the mail today and have been installing and playing with sounds ever since. Everything sounds great, except the E-Piano MK 1, which sounds positively puny (bland, muted) compared to the sample on the EIC page: http://www.ableton.com/eic

Is anybody getting that wonderful rich sound out of the box, without filters and heavy tweaking? If so, any ideas why I’m not getting that? And if not, any ideas on what needs to be tweaked to get that sound?

I’ll reply to myself here. After experimenting some more I’m beginning to wonder if my MIDI keyboard is to blame. When I trigger the E-Piano MK 1 with my nanoPAD I’m getting a much more pronounced sound than I’m able to get with my old Roland PC-180A keyboard, no matter how hard I hit the keys.

Are some MIDI keyboard better suited for these types of sounds? Do they somehow produce a more pronounced "hit" when pressing a key hard?

Maybe it’s time to replace the Roland...

You might check the Velocity data range the nanoPAD sends...
