You Don't Fuck My Brains Out Anymore

Post by vlantis » Thu Sep 24, 2009 6:04 am

EDIT: I've taken the song down, but you'll see it in a different form later.

Still working on my "Super Battlestation Robot" EP, but decided to take a little detour while waiting for some vocals.

Here's something COMPLETELY different from me (and pretty much everything else on this board). This is a waltzy piano cover of one of my good friend's songs. The original was a little guitar country diddy thing in a completely different key. Also one of those rare chances to hear regular, unaltered vocals from yours truly.

I've uploaded a video of the original song if you want to hear it. The actual song doesn't start until about 2:15 into it. The beginning part is some rap cover. That's me on the drums and DS.

And just for the hell of it, here's my friend's myspace page:

I did the electronic stuff for "Let Your Voice be the Theremin", all the instrumentation and mixing for "A Time to Not Be Nice" and the keys for "Emily Dog."

Enjoy!

Very nice piece, love the piano. Couldn't help but remind me of Little Miss Sunshine. :D

Nice vocals too, keep up the good work.

and Kojima needs to drop snake and do a new ZOE right fucking now. NOW. Also loved obscure game called RAD, great control scheme for a giant robot game.

Yeah, my friend's got GREAT lyrics for all his songs. I'm putting together an EP of my three cover songs of his (the other two haven't been posted online), plus his originals (if he lets me). Complete with such winning lyrics as:

"Women"

You know ladies, they don't want you to grovel,
They want a houndstooth coat and Twilight novel,
And a cold, cold bath if at all possible,
Something sweet like that.

and

"Ugly Mothers have Ugly Babies"

Dead kids get the biggest pictures in the yearbook.
Right next to the table of contents,
Your name was on a coffee can at the reunion,
And no one's ever spoken of your ugly ass since.

PS: Why should Kojima make a new ZoE game when he can rake in the dough with Metal Gear?

Just re-uploaded the song. Tweaked some of the vocals and set them back in the mix a bit.

very nice track - i dig the movement/pace surrounded by the airy vocals. nice tasteful arps as well - well produced

maybe could handle an obscene distorted lead/solo at some point to give it that kick in the a. not that is necessary though
