You're gonna have to explain a little bit what do you mean by it doesn't work. It's kinda vague, what are the steps you did? which platform? ...

Since you didn't tell us anything about the machine/platform you're on, or what version of the software you downloaded and have installed, OR what you mean by something as general as "it does not work," there's not much anyone can do to help you.
As with any bug reporting, those things [basic information/sequence of operations which shows the problem] are where everyone who wishes to help you would start.

there are several threads on the beta forum in which people have discussed why "theirs is broken"

a place to start?

hello,
thank you for your answers, I'm sorry to answer so late.
I'm on a Mac version 10.4.11, Processor 2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo.
I installed first and then Max Live ... and ... nothing!

I open Live and M4L symbol does not appear.
Max 5 was already installed on my computer and Live 7.
Thank you very much in advance for your help.

You need to go under your preferences and say authorize from internet. It will add the max for live authorization.

use safari to authorize.. if you use firefox, everything will stay exactly the same when you click authorize and nothing will happen and you will feel like a complete dumbass.

this happened to me on more than one occasion.

thank you all for your answers,
I did everything as indicated, both Max and live downloads are installed with Safari.
The preferences are listed!
But I have no idea how to operate.
The 2 applications should be open?
The icon in the windows Live does not appear to go to Max ...
Same thing on my Power Book ...
How do you do after installing the 2 applications?

I'm also having an authorization problem. I managed to get things working on my laptop, but on my desktop, I'm having trouble. At first, I launch and Live tells me the beta will expire in a few days, so far, so good.

I click OK, then I get this thing.

As you can see, there is no way to do anything except exit Live. There isn't anything at
http://www.ableton.com/pages/authorization/live_8
that helps me with this circumstance.

So, I figured I'd go directly to my user account page at
https://www.ableton.com/account/licenses/
and authorize from there.

I click 'authorize this computer'

Hey. This looks promising.

Then I'm back to this again.

Any ideas?
