I used to live in Seattle. I think I went to the first couple years. Who's playing? Anyone you're excited about seeing? Is Jerry Abstract or Lusine playing?

I'll be there Friday night so I'll seek you out. Going to check out "Speaking in Code" at the SAM first.

Was a great night last night, Derek Plaslaiko and Mikael Stravostrand did some amazing sets, Mad Professor looked like he had Nuemos rocking too. Looking forward to Kilowatts on Sunday.

Derek is crazy, that's all I can say. Super nice guy, and finally, a DJ who knows how to set the levels right on the mixer too.

na, it's the global problem of 'big' name dropping... tiring, thou :|
people are not open anymore to open their horizon and explore new things... they always have to be 'sure'

I've tried the open minded approach a couple times in the last year or so at festivals that I knew very few of the artists and for the most part left disappointed. Oddly I ended up liking the first few opener acts, the ones that most people miss because nobody shows up that early, and as the day progresses I find myself deeper and deeper in meh.

fair enough.

i also have to admit that i experience more meh than wow, names or not, but i think my problem is that i played for now over 20 years myself, that makes it somehow really hard to be truly blown away by a performace, but i don't like it, i wish often i could forget all i know about dj-ing and go somewhere with a none pre occupied mind.
