Ability to create multiple takes in arrangement view

Post by allusion » Sat May 09, 2009 12:56 am

Hello all, been a user of live for several years and finally decided to join the forum. First, I love the upgrade to 8. Really amazing and love the new features.

I would like to request add a request for a new feature. I have been getting more into creating real time performances in the arrangement view. It would be great if Live allowed you to create new arrangements within a live set. Then you could open up different versions and cut and paste and merge different parts. Just my 2 cents but and I think it would be a cool feature to add.

maybe so

there have been some ideas discussed in this area but of course you can always just work in the X-axis i.e. have different sections along the time line and edit between them

YES!!!

I would like to see Ableton handles 'multiple takes' and 'loop recording' simmilar to Reaper.

1. Every loop to be as a new file either on the hard drive or just as a audio clip or slice (arrangemetn view).
2. Choose how to be viewed all the recorded takes: either one above/below another, one after another or the last on top of the previous (on top)
3. Crossfades now are not so intuitive. They just have to be clip based (and stay into the clip!), not so envelope based as they are now

This is a missing feature that keeps me away from buying ableton for last 6 years.
:)

Just posted in the 'too much DAW features' in this forum a request about that. I strongly agree. I had to put each take in the session view on the corresponding track to keep it but that makes editing from various takes much longer than it should.
