No, I think most people just want a chance to bitch around. Bitching about Live 8 is getting boring so they want a new piece of software to bitch about.ghast wrote:You want it to be finished and stable.........right?
Will Max For Live be ever released?

yup, and nothing wrong with waiting for that... rather being 1/2 - 1 year a beta tester[-ing], official beta tester!!!ghast wrote:You want it to be finished and stable.........right? It's gonna take however long it takes.
then being a customer who just wants to work and use... but made an extended beta tester instead...

I'm definitely hanging for cause I've held off upgrading to Live Suite 8 because I'm hoping for a discounted package which includes Max for Live. We'll see eventually I guess.

$600 and a yearly upgrade rate of $250, but thats just for the beta.shamburglar wrote:You know I'm starting to wonder if the issue maybe isn't if it's done or not, but more of a negotiation thing between the two companies.... we have no idea what the pricing on M4L will be... considering that Max/MSP + Jitter is $700... who knows how much M4L will cost and who knows how what kind of arrangement the two companies will have. I know I plunked down a lot of money buying the Ableton Suite and personally I feel that if you bought the whole package that M4L ought to be included or at least discounted considerably. I think they have a large quandry here... price it too high and they won't sell too many... and as Max/Msp is a pretty esoteric product I understand the high price but Ableton has a pretty large install base and if they price M4L right it'll be a must buy for most Ableton owners and therefore they will sell a lot more... just a thought.

+1 I'm in the same boat. Will probably upgrade to Live 8 this autumn anyway, but it would be nice to get a package deal.rdomain wrote:I'm definitely hanging for cause I've held off upgrading to Live Suite 8 because I'm hoping for a discounted package which includes Max for Live. By the way, there is an interview with the lead Ableton developer of M4L in the CM Live 8 special magazine - he says he is "increasingly confident" that they will release M4L before the end of 2009, which is the timescale they originally announced anyway. They always did say Q4 for this release. So no need for the panic.
