Possibly. So explain.Spiralgroove wrote:youre still not getting it then.
Is this correct? Recording COPIES the MIDI data to a track?
very good. now have I misunderstood something, or are you also being a stupid pain in the ass?louZ wrote:it doesn't, but it explains what session and arrangement view are and how they interact.Gravity wrote:How does reading the manual change the behaviour of the program?louZ wrote:people should read the manual more....
Is it really so hard to answer a question instead of being rude?
Ableton may have a good product, but the community sure sucks.

dude
if you DONT record over whats in arranger its not gonna change.
if you DO it WILL CHANGE
if youre recording clips from your session
THEY ARE THE SAME they are just not THE SAME CLIP
if you delete a clip from arranger it doesnt delete the original clip from the session...
if you dont want them to change then DONT FUCK WITH THEM
jeeeeeeeeeezuz
im done with this, youre on your own

You really ar fantastically daft. How old are you, twelve?Spiralgroove wrote:if there are, you arent one of them
modifing a session clip does not modify its counterpart in arranger unless you are recording...
how many times are we gonna go over this knucklehead?
Look, stupid. I asked if I could change that behaviour. You have now in several posts said that I don't understand something, while in fact, I had understood perfectly from the start. Everytime you try to tell me what it is I don't understand, you just repeat the same thing I said in the first post.
You are dafter than imaginable by normal people, and you have absolutely nothing to contribute in this thread. Now shut the fuck up.

I think this pretty much says it all.Gravity wrote:Isn't there anybody here with a brain, except me?
In your self-important imagination, if a program isn't designed to work the you wish it would, then there is some defect on the part of the programmers ... ala:
or perhaps nobody but you has a brain ... yes that must be the problem."Why is it so bloody hard for people to make a real-time pattern-based MIDI sequencer!?"
Because the alternative explanation (that you have no idea what you are doing, and have no ability to even grasp the illogic of what you proposing given the stated design of the product) is unthinkable.
What you want LIVE to do is contrary to the very point of the design. Sorry to try to intrude on your hallucination with stark reality.
all this fuzz? for a thread that, maybe, should have been in the wishlist called 'please, ghost copies'???
"sorry, gravity... changes you make in a session clip will indeed not be reflected in the arrangement (as you seem to know). see the ARR as a recording of a jam in session, or a canvas on which you can paint clips. that's the way it works. if you want it differently, then go to the Feature Wishlist and ask there. unfortunately there's no such thing as 'ghost clips' at the moment. others have asked for this too, and it would be handy indeed. do a search for more. you can easily drag your edited clip to the arrangement of course... a workaround, still. or did i misunderstand?"
now, is such an answer so difficult to write down?
can you all just read the thread from the beginning and
?
i don't mind telling someone to read the manual if it is an all too obvious question, but this hotheadedness...

To get that statement to mean that certain people are defective takes some of the most seriously overactive imagination I have ever encountered.d2 wrote:In your self-important imagination, if a program isn't designed to work the you wish it would, then there is some defect on the part of the programmers ... ala:"Why is it so bloody hard for people to make a real-time pattern-based MIDI sequencer!?"
Oh, so now pattern based sequencing is illogical. Good going, dude.Because the alternative explanation (that you have no idea what you are doing, and have no ability to even grasp the illogic of what you proposing given the stated design of the product) is unthinkable.
I don't agree. It is not designed to do what I wanted, sure, but what I wanted is in no way "contrary to the point of the design".What you want LIVE to do is contrary to the very point of the design.
