Wished there was much more dubstep with vocals, imho most dubstep sounds like computermusic demos.
Empty productions, and most sound cloned.

This is just my oppinion tho.

Ive posted the skream remix earlier in this tread because that was the only dubstep with some cool vocals i liked over the months diggin into dubstep.
(Sorry for hijacking you're tread ukruss  but anyone can name some REAL phat productions with vocals?)

Nah, go for it mate. No problem. I liked the La Roux remix but to me it kind of watered down what I think Dubstep is about, remixing does that though...you knid of have to stick to a little bit fo what the original artists wants too. I beat skream was like, yeah, I'm gonna do this and that and they were like no, just wobble a bit of bass but stick to the path. :D

Cheers for the rob smith shout...that makes me feel better. 8)

nice linky too Olly, on it!

my favorite artists at the moment are rusko, caspa, bombaman and DZ.

but, my favorite part of dubstep is how unique and original the stuff that smaller artists are coming out with. looking around the forum, there's some really great stuff!
Jebus...thats some nice shit. That mix no 25. is hardcore mate. Loving it.fucking brilliant.

wheres the podcast linkage?

I like Milanese for some grime/dubstep goodness. The Untold remix of The End is stunning.

Ta.

I dubstepped my way home last night, dubstepped round the house all night then dubstepped my way back in to work this morning. :D

What I love about it most is the openness of the mix, the space with the half-time drums, the dubby effects and of course those clever bass shennanigans.

Been tweakintg some bass in Live last ngiht and getting some fierce nastiness going on. This is one fun genre, dark and nasty!

Even managed to find the CM disc with the Rusko masterclass on it. Love the way he mixes down three or four different mixes of the same track, then recombines them for the final take. Clever idea that. Then you get som real different shizz hapenning on the bass drops.

Check out the free Fact 70 mix by The XX.

http://www.mixesdb.com/db/index.php/200 ... ACT_Mix_70

I`ve listened to this for weeks, really good. First half is dubstep i guess, on the " lighter" end of the scale
but very relaxing stuff. Second half of the mix is various stuff.

The xx`s debut album is also worth your time, i find it extremely fresh.
Not really dubstep but clearly influenced by it.

Yeah, more linkage!

one thing I've noticed already is the amount of legit free music dished out in the scene. Class.

I'm off to get a sandwich, whip out the lappie and start some wobbling! (Thats how we do dubstep lunch. )

Same here-The chopped up vocals in Burial seem to tie everything together. "Chase and Status - Eastern Jam" has some cool vocals and a little more bite than the Burial.

There's a fair bit of dubstep on the Planet Mu label.

You can get an excellent Planet Mu compilation here on mp3 for £5.99.
