Would really love to see (or hear) a walkthrough of exactly what's happening in the video. Ableton...?

But I want one.

No, make that two...

let me add myself to your cliche-list :) espencially max4live clichées on how it will change everything :)

about the volume control, well, you can control 8 volumes in 8 steps each :)
There's an article on Create Digital Music. I get the impression you can 'bank' between sets of 8 channels.

And with M4L couldn't you rig something where the volume fader 'glided' smoothly up/down to a level that corresponded to the button you pressed? e.g. if I was on the top button (maximum volume) then pressed the bottom button, the volume would gradually fade out rather than 'jump'?

yeah you could, but i would take the volume with real faders anyways (have to put my faderfoxes to good use :)).

i can't wait for the day max4live is out. then, i think, i need vacation, just for programmeringmessing all the ideas i had in my mind :)

btw, if it detects pressure, one could even make it fade-over the volume at speed depending on the pressure (it could even be that it does that even now, that would be cool). that way, one could even program settings per button for effects, and then, per press-strength fade over. that would be similar to some of the native-instrument effects that exist. i would love that... :)

i looooooooooove buttons

i love rotary knobs (not the endless ones, the one with fixed start and end) over everything, but buttons are awesome, too :)

If only I liked to make drum and bass, this would be SO COOL.

I like how they waited until a month before it came out to announce it. No year of anticipation.
Could this be an APC40 killer?
My APC40 should be nervous.

ctrl + left/right = select transient

ctrl + shift + left/right = select between transients

ctrl + space = play selection

I was thinking of something like the Korg NanoKontrol buttons which have attack and release times for on/off presses.

My only fear is that I'm going to have a hard time telling a green pad from a yellow pad

The red ones seem to stand out pretty well, but I cannot for the love of it see any difference
between the green ones and the yellow ones.

I can appreciate the traffic light analogy, but yellow, blue and red would have worked so much
better for colour blind people. Well, for this one, anyway - there are many different kinds of
colour blindness.

they could've put in a red, green and a blue led to fake all other colours then :) would've been even better.

Really like it. Can't wait to try one out in real life. This, plus my trusty UC-33e will suit me fine.

neiltrix wrote:YOu can totally customize each page to any parameter, even the session view can have custom button controllers mapped that trigger not only clips but all assignable parameters .... so regarding launching clips whilst doing filters etc, its easy. you can also go into User modes and trigger drum machines etc whilst making up your own mappings... it really is flexible... and up to 6 units linked !!!! wow.. Remember it also supports other DAW's not just live making it really flexible. You can even map the crossfader to a row of buttons !!!!!!

S4racen....You need to use one to understand how powerful this little machine is, trust me... i have and it really is awesome.
Who are you, you masked hero?

And what department of Novation do you work for?
