No x/y pad....

I've been dying to say something completely unreasonable about the launchpad...! I might sell some other bits and get one, i've got two xone 1ds gathering dust since the apc arrived...

Cheers

you should ask, if for performance or the studio...

the APC is cool, very well built, but for me a studio item, to big, heavy and bulky, not USB powered.

the launchpad is probably way cheaper built (hence the price tag) but much more comfortable & convenient for a live application and dragging around the world.

As ever with new gear, I'll reserve full judgement until I actually get to use one...

...but if it works as well as I hope, then for me, as I have Kore 2 also, then it's Launch Pad rather than APC.

Even then, for live performance I might be able to get away with just the Launch Pad.

you can see why they launched the APC first :)

I reckon the launch pad, plus nanokontrol then my faderfox for the fx, would make a pretty cool and minimal set up. . .
I slipped into a daze, whilst I was there I heard the most startling music, it was at once familiar and alien, reassuring and unsettling.

Their LEDs support multiple brightness levels, Novation has made a step sequencer for Max for Live that will support this feature. Cool!

ha ha,

Yes you right neb, but compared to say, a zone 3d and efx 1000 it's not bad, not exactly minimal but I reckon you'd get it all in a backpack 9might struggle with my rme or 828 though. . .

I'll stick with my apc, I think it is kind of creepy that all these controllers are coming from ableton, it would be nice to see some alternatives out there that I can use for multiple apps. I still like my apc40 though

This IS an apc killer! I have an apc too...

If i can trigger clips/scenes and (WOW) notes HALFWAY as smoothly as my padkontrol this will win for me.
The apc has slightly disappointed me with its pad interface,to me it feels clunky and is too small.
What do you guys think?
I cannot seem to trigger clips and scenes as accurately as i need to, and it gets all filled up quickly.
The demo vid for the launchpad looks like it focuses on what the akai can't do.Lets hope it has some sort of pad type response for those beats cos the padkontrol still wins for this drumrack/scene triggering lark.
Cant wait to try one out....and then get one.
ctrl + left/right = select transient

ctrl + shift + left/right = select between transients

ctrl + space = play selection
