[sharing is fun] Live.API_explorer
Re: [sharing is fun] Live.API_explorer
.amxd is a max device...
just drop it in a track.
(this one is an audio effect device, so you can drop it on an audio, MIDI, Return or master track)
you can copy it in your Live library in max devices to access it from your live browser.

Sweet! If you add observers, you've got watchpoints covered on your way to a debugger.

Many thanks for this. I reckon this is exactly the type of utility that should be included with M4L once it rolls out.
So very useful!

Re: [sharing is fun] Live.API_explorer
This is excellent, Mathieu, thank you. I just built something similar that gives all the parameter names for a selected device, but this is more comprehensive than my patcher. I agree this would be a very useful utility to include with Max4Live.

you fucking rock.
Re: [sharing is fun] Live.API_explorer
As I'm becoming more familiar with the Live Object Model I'm really starting to hope that we'll get some objects that will provide a more immediate way to talk to the APC and Launchpad control surfaces. The live.path/object/observer/remote~ objects are fine for adding an extra LFO to Operator or something, but trying to use them to create custom remappings looks like it could get pretty painful.
Here's a list of the controls for the APC control_surface object:

Have you been able to do anything with that data?
For example, can you monitor the offset of the red rectangle in Session view?

this a standard device, not frozen, without any abstractions or dependencies ; so there is no reason why you couldn't edit it.
