I have successfully connected two computers with Ableton Live between a wireless network using MIDI. From the master computer I can press play as well as control the tempo on the slave computer. What I need to do is to be able to click play on a track on the master computer and have that corresponding track space on the slave computer play the file that is located there also.
Is this possible? What am I doing wrong?
I've tried it with the computer keyboard midi, where I assign a letter on the computer keyboard to a track and trigger that track by clicking that key...but it only works for the master. Can I make it work for both computers? Basically, I need to be able to trigger tracks on a slave from a master.
I really appreciate any help.
thanks,

Re: using master computer to trigger tracks on slave computer
hey dude, nice job at lolla. you guys were awesome.
I'm having a bit of the same problem, except i want to rewire Reason into one laptop, then connect the laptops and slave live and to the other one. Cause my DJ partner is running ableton on his laptop, and im running reason on mine, and i want to rewire reason to live on his laptop. Do i have to slave abletons first? and will i be able to control it with his control surfaces connected to his laptop?
help would be appreaciated.

Re: using master computer to trigger tracks on slave computer
You'll want to send midi sync to the slave, you also want to send out midi messages to the slave..
So say you assign a button on your MIDI keyboard to trigger scene 1. This works on the master computer because that's how you've mapped it. you want that same MIDI message to be sent to the slave so that it triggers there too.
At least that's how I think it will work.. So you're not only sending sync but you'll want to send out all of your MIDI controls to the slave, or at least the ones you want it to respond to..
