APC and foot switch

does anyone know why my standard m-audio foot switch is automatically assigned to a clip launch button. Does anyone know how to assign it control the looper. I used to be able to do this using an akai mpd 32

it's assigned to scene launch by default
you can override this behavior by midilearning it

yeah, tried that, doesnt seem to want top learn anything else.

Do you have Remote on in MIDI settings for the APC40?
MacBook Pro 2.2GHz, OSX 10.6.6
Presonus Firebox, APC40
Ableton Suite 9
