changing midi data into wave from to manipulate in arrange

Hi, I'm pretty certain I did this before, but I can't remember how I did it. Is it possible to take midi data from the session view and convert it into a wave form so that when it appears in session you can chop it up and manipulate it? thanks.

freeze the clip, drop it into an audio track, unfreeze it.
