Help - stereo to two mono channels

hello all...

I need some clarification on how to properly setup two mono channels on a mixer to preserve a stereo image of the sound coming out of ableton. I'm running a laptop connected to a MOTU traveler with two 1/4" lines from the main outputs to two mono channels on a mixer. Should the channels on the mixer be centered or panned left and right and if the latter how much should they be panned?

Pan them hard left and hard right, faders at the same volume.
