Personally, I've always gone for numero uno, but that's not what I hear in online videos.
Then again, I pronounce "vocoder" like "encoder"...

Really?
If so, it really is just pronounced like Flange...with an R on the end.
This is not pronounced like any of the options you gave.

from wikipedia: "The "flange" effect originated when an engineer would literally put a finger on the flange, or rim of one of the tape reels so that the machine was slowed down, slipping out of sync by tiny degrees."
Its pronounced "Flanj-er", or as a previous poster stated flange, with an R on the end

All righty, poll updated with the additional option "flan-jer".
In fact, I would pronounce that the way I pronounce "ganja"...

If you come from the south of England it's "Flarnger"

and if someone doesn't know or understand it, maybe because of different pronunciation, then i just say, "the tschiiiieeeeeeeuwwwwwww-effect, you know". and all say "aaah, the
flanger"

(with the fingers, like
laser in austin powers)

Do any of our esteemed Australasian forum users pronounce the Utility Device 'Ute'?
