say i have a drum rack loaded into an instrument slot.
i have 16 samples loaded into it, playing them with my padkontrol or whatever.
what's the best way to do a midi latch kinda thing? where by i send a note-on to a specific sample, but it doesn't send the note off til i hit the note again.
some samples in the drum rack have a loop set on them, and i want them to keep looping over and over until i tell it to stop.
you can set this up in REAPER pretty easily. there's a great midi-latch midi effect you can place before the sampler instrument.
wondering the best way to go about doing the same thing in ableton.
thoughts?
thanks, lou.
MIDI latch effect?
Re: MIDI latch effect?
switch pads to CCs
make them toggle
put MIDI pipe in between controller and live and have it convert the CCs to note data

Re: MIDI latch effect?
yeah this seems fiddly.
is there any way to do this natively.. or with a midi effect plugin?

Re: MIDI latch effect?
Why do you load the 16 samples into a drumrack?
Keep them in the clip slots and you can do the latch.

Re: MIDI latch effect?
because i just do. i want to record down what i'm playing as midi clips, not just as passes into the arrangement view.
