Q: Importing Files and work in new sets

Post by Vladimir » Wed Nov 26, 2003 8:44 am

Hello to all,

this question may sound silly but I really tried to find out in the manuals .

Is it possible to use clips (whole songs) with .asd information
in any Live set? Means to import the .asd information into other
Live sets than the one the .asd-file was created in.

When I open a .wav file with a complete song in it, I place some
warp markers and adjust a few things and save the work...

Now I would like to use the same .wav in an other Live set
(lets say for dj-ing).
But in any other Live set the information about the warp markers is
lost exept the one I created them.

Can anyone tell me if that works at all and how?

Thanks in advance

Cheers

Vladimir

once you have adjusted the warp markers in a clip, click on the "save" button on the left of the info panel. its beside the pitch setting etc. this saves the sample with its new warp markers as default, so when you open it in live it will be the same.

Thank you very much.
It works :-)
I was so frustrated about the fact, that I had
to do the same job (warping) again and again ...

actually, I often save files and find that upon bring the clips into a new live set, the warp settings are not present. It seems to happen maybe 30% of the clips only, so it is very confusing and frustrating. I have ALWAYS had this problem. Any such experiences?

try consolidating (ctrl+j) the warped clip in arranger view instead of saving the clip
