MPD32: cliplaunch/stop like with APC40
MPD32: cliplaunch/stop like with APC40
Hi all,
just to defend my back: I´m fairly new to LIVE, read the manual an searched the forum for quite a while without
success. Here My question:
I´d like to set up My MPD32 for Clip launch and stop eqal to the way it´s realised for the APC40.
Taht means, no matter how far i scroll down in session View, if I press the upper left pad of the MPD32
the upper left clip of the matrix should be triggered.
I read somewhere that this feature is one of the main reasons (besides others) to buy a APC40 or a Novation launchpad,
so I guess it isn´t possible with the MPD32. But maybe I just don´t see the obvious right infront of me.
Anyone?

You map the play button to that certain pad.vertecs wrote:Hi all,

Equipments: Softwares, hardwares, plastics and metal controllers, computers, headphones, a pair monitor speaker, and electricity to power them up.

Look up the nativeKontrol apps. There might be something there that is what you are looking for.

Right guys,
thanks for Your answers, but that doesn´t solve my problem.
maybe I wansn´t specific enough in the first place. Let me try again:
First, I use a AKAI MPD32 Controller, not a Korg nano.
Second: I don´t want to map specific clips, that´s straght forward but
not usable for bigger sessions.
What I´m looking for is the possibility to may my 4x4 Pad-matrix of the MPD32
to a flexible 4x4 slot matrix in session view. So I I scroll all the way up,
the upper left Pad of the MPD32 should trigger the Clip in upper left corner
of the session (clip in scene 1 and track 1). Bottom right pad would the
trigger (clip in scene 4 and track 4).
If I scroll down two scenes, the upper left pad should trigger clip in scene 3
track one. The upper right pad would trigger clip in scene 3 track four.
So the mapping has to be dynamic an not linked to a specific clip or slot.
The selection should depend on the position within the session.
I hope this is clearer than my first try.
Can anyone give it a try again?
Thanks in advance

The best I can think of without d/ling extra programs is when you hit MIDI Map Mode, below the Scene Play Buttons (but above the Master Volume) there are Up and Down arrows. To the left for each channel is a play button. You can assign pads to those and play one clip at a time per row.. which is probably kind of boring haha. If you were to play clips above and below each other you'd unfortunately have to keep bumping up and down
Plus you might have to assign stop buttons (or set your clips to a different type of launch mode)
Hopefully in a newer version of Ableton Live they will allow customization similar to the APC
