Depeche Mode: so macs reliable enough to use in stadiums...?
Re: Depeche Mode: so macs reliable enough to use in stadiums...?
A tip: if you go pc laptop, look for one where you can physically turn off the network card. To my experience, this is where bad and unexpected things can happen during live gigs. You don't know the environments where you perform and what your windows laptop might find flying around in the air. Dell has laptops where you can turn off the network module. I believe most Latitudes will do that. I use a D830 with Vista and Live for live gigs and it hasn't failed me so far.

It's a total hassle. I think CoreAudio is the major advantage of the Mac platform. Can't stand OS X's look and feel though. Anything is better than Aqua.dom wrote: - There are no different driver standards to fiddle around with instead of Windows drivers, DirectX, ASIO etc.: CoreAudio is always low latency and multiple applications can make use of the same driver at the same time. This is still a hassle with ASIO
Thanks for summing things up.

i allready corrected myself and said i mean technically it's not very difficult, with a human voice, yes there are probably only a very few that can manage that.3phase wrote:easy? in 25 years i only once had a singer in the studio that could do it..my cmv suffered!! and thewindows was shattering..SubFunk wrote:the glass issue is easy and many people can do that our days, once you hit the self resonating frequency of an object, that's it. no big issue
and with glass that is super easy to do...
only issue is that if you use your voice you need to have a lot of power... and able to 'hold' a certain frequency range for a longer time.
