What's that got to do with American cuisine? You get the same in the UK & Ireland and every other country in the world.beats me wrote:Well I was thinking that you feel the only thing the US has to offer in food is McDonalds, but the fact is chefs from all over the world come here and set up high end world renowned restaurants representing all corners of the globe. eating horseshit and caviar... because you are from the USA!
that is obviously my point, just a weird prejudice!

I will admit that about 5 years ago there was some mandate handed down that we replace our token black person with a token British person in just about every reality show.SubFunk wrote:beats me wrote:Gordon Ramsay wrote:have you ever eaten anything real irish or british?
they have as much fantastic stuff just like hundreds of other nations, except the US of course, they only have shit fastfood.![]()

ROFL,
you guys have probably at least 12 of those kind of twats around. ehhh.......... hang on your entire nation is made out of twats isn't it?
I think out of fairness every English speaking European reality show should have the token American redneck host or judge. Hell, it doesn't even have to be English speaking because I can't even understand them half the time either.

@ sub funk
still, say what you want about the rest of our food... I think beats me is right... no one can touch us on bar-b-que... (probably because most are trying to figure out how to eat it with a knife and fork..).
oh and hamburgers... I can't believe that something so simple can be fucked up and called a 'beef burger' as if changing the name somehow provides an excuse for ruining it or changes what it really is (should be).

Are you disagreeing that Ireland and the UK have had a reputation for traditional bland and/or overcooked food? Let's pit that up against some Texas bbq.Sage wrote:What's that got to do with American cuisine? Just most flavour is added by sauces and stuff.
Re: Post your beer and associated gut
if it goes after prejudice then ask prejudice europeans (just being as prejudice as you are right now on this topic) how they think of american food culture,Are you disagreeing that Ireland and the UK have had a reputation for traditional bland and/or overcooked food? they will tell you it's by far the worse in the world and bbq is not even considered to be food you can take in any way serious..
basically it's just rubbish, apart that i claim that south africans and australians make even better bbqs then you. just to feed your prejudice...

Re: Post your beer and associated gut
It has to be said, as a keen food addict thas scours the web for rare recipes its a crime that the USA is often overlooked in international cuisine.
One of my biz associates from Baton Rouge mailed me his 40 year old family gumbo recipe and it was easily as sublime as the 1000 year old moglai byriani recipe I cooked the previous week.
Yer man Jamie Oliver's currently on a UK TV seriestouring the US in search of the best grindage.
Inspiring stuff.
Its just Jerry Lewis I can't forgive you guys for.....
(though we did off-set it with Benny Hill so....)
