Fuck em! I like our food and our beer.

What I don't like is a large number of our franchises and their ability to manipulate minds at home and abroad with silly beliefs like McDonalds still makes hamburgers and Taco Bell sells Mexican fodd

Fact is I've eaten from a Taco truck that would blow your mind 8O and I've had great (American) chowders, soups, stews, sandwiches, cornbread, biscuits (not cookies), cookies, pies, cobblers, greens, beans, cheese and everything in between that would suit me just fine as the menu for the rest of my life.
I was going to say something similar to that. The problem when you come to the states is you are bombarded with fast food and chain restaurants and the quality places are almost hidden in a back alley or poorly advertised or in a nondescript building.

Sadly we also exported this way of marketing because when I was in Spain the only places that screamed "HEY, FOOD HERE!" were McDonalds, Burger King, and to my complete shock even KFC and 7-11 were there.

So no wonder based on visits here or our exports there they think our food sucks.

I must admit to succumbing to a gorgeous ice cold can of Special Brew not 3 minutes ago.

I figure as I'm only having one it makes fiscal sense in these dark, dark days...

.......Going rather well with twiglets, lemon kush and diasapam* actualy.

(The correct condiments are of course crucial)

Tonight it's a Belgian Wit that comes from my brewhouse/garage. Light crisp delicious. That one I brewed about 6 weeks ago. It's nearly gone. Sadly, I've been rather a pig about that one... drank most of it myself.

Heinecken is rubbish, though. I prefer Belgian beer.

Possibly the best beer I've had. And I've had many.

American, in spite of the cyrillic text, from the excellent North Coast Brewing company.
Try to find it on tap if you can (sadly, you probably can't).
And don't drink it too cold! Complex beer is like aged cheese, if it's cold, you'll miss a lot of the taste. I'd say like 10-12 degrees Celsius is probably a good temperature for this one.

One of my favorites, especially in cold weather.

i just had one of those this afternoon, it's a very local beer speciality called "berliner weisse mit schuss" and you drink it with either a splash of raspberry sirup or woodruff (not sure if this is translated properly... in german: 'waldmeister') sirup, i like it 'green' with the later most...

it is a very typical summer drink, extremely refreshing.

EDIT: this one has a real different taste compared the other beers i personally know, like lagers, ales, stouts and wheat beers ("hefeweizen")... really hard to describe, closest is probably wheat beer, but this is much lighter and more towards a strong lemon character... that's why it is served with a splash of sirup, you need a little bit of sweetness to keep the balance.

I walked out the back door at work tonight and thought it was raining. Nope, just some drunk asshole vomiting everywhere on the balcony above me. I fucking hate football game days here because of the idiotic way the drunken fools behave. I had half a mind to go up there and toss his stupid drunk ass off the balcony .
