Re: eigenharp alpha
the music they play suck
but the instruments looks really cool
and the price makes it's unavailable for most of the folks in da world
and that is the funny point - using such expensive innovative devices to play such a dull ordinary uninspiring music

Re: eigenharp alpha
I was thinking that when I watched the video. The music didn't sell the device very well although it did occur to me afterwards that they were probably trying to play something mainstream as it was a BBC news item. The item did pique my interest somewhat so I went to the website to check it out further.
Wow! This thing looks easily like the greatest controller ever made. I can't wait to try one. I am seriously thinking in investing in the smaller one initially with a view to getting the bigger one if I get on with it. I wonder just how well it will work with Live because the two together could be just mindblowing in potential.

Yes, they are playing really sucky music, but the idea and the execution looks amazing. Try the Eigenharp website rather than the BBC report for info.

Re: eigenharp alpha
It is very nice, it is really expensive. It "has a midi gateway", so you run the software to make the instrument run, and then you would control whatever else via MIDI coming from that gateway. Wonder what latency might be involved. So if you are not using a Mac you would need to add the price of a Mac on top of it to run the proprietary software/MIDI gateway to control your main stuff.aeon_flux wrote:akai has similar price but in usd (not gbp).Gazgoldstar wrote: I am seriously thinking in investing in the smaller one initially with a view to getting the bigger one if I get on with it. The sensitivity is a strong point, those keys probably add quite a bit to the cost, along with the breath controller, but they keys are very cool. It has the flashing lights that is for sure
I have bored people with this video here before

Because it is a MIDI controller I can select VST/chord/scale plugs using any of the MIDI items. I've got a Behringer FCB1010 as well.
UTENZIL a tool... of the muse.
