Wood = good.

Any idea how much it'll cost, roughly?

heaps too expensive and only 1 colour led means i'll be sticking with launchpad (preordered :!: )

One thing that would have made me kick myself for jumping on launchpad to soon would be velocity sensitive buttons!

saw it at the moldover jam as well...thing feels great, all top quality components, made right here in the beautiful US of A. really nice software editor as well, makes it really simple to configure.

I'm now torn between this and a 'proper' Monome (after I missed out on a m64 by £30 on eBay last night. Bah!). Because it's MIDI and 'open source' (the new buzzword!) there's plenty of potential for use with different applications (AudioMulch.... Reaktor... Bidule...)

For $400 it looks like I will be pre-ordering one in the coming days...! Need to do a bit more research on the software an' such first, though.

Here we go now...

I can't wait for M-audio and Behringer to come out with 8x8 grid controllers for $99 now... :roll:
And afer that, NI will come out with a new software/hardware combo called Klipkontrol for $599 with a grid unit as well... :wink:

I like how each company adds some new random functions to make it not a complete monome rip. 2 faders? Really?

It's a proper controller-fest right now! It's been a while since I've seen such an amount of "somewhat-identical" products being launched in such a relative short time span... if ever actually!
This one's got the looks, but that's all for me as i'll stick with the (now in light of recent times) Good'Ol' APC :-) Now we need something very different next time to wow us...

And not a one seems to have scribble strip displays, unless I've missed something. Wouldn't that be a nice differentiator?

Next thing I'm guessing on, is bionic midi implants where the velocity is adjusted from how hard you can bang your head into a solid object. could make for some cool new customer segment for Live, as it would probably appeal more to the Death Metal crowd!

Displays are so last-decade-analog-gear like ;-)
