The MFL v1.0 way of doing this is with send/receive and a sender device.

any way to send audio and midi to the same M4L patch?
Re: any way to send audio and midi to the same M4L patch?
Which seems very messy indeed … and the other way around, midichannels accepting soundinput from ableton audio or bus channels would be much appreciated as well .. (back to the old pluggo bus for now
) !
on a second note .. i have a simple [send] in a m4l patch on a midichannel .. if i put the [receive] in that same patch everything behaves as expected .. if i put the [receive] in a different m4l patch on a different (audio) track .. it won't receive .. is this how it's supposed to work ?
thanks !

send and receive work fine across multiple devices, just not for audio.
If you can show otherwise, please give us some steps for reproduction.

my bad, the device was deactivated, hence no receive …

That's what I needed to hear. I know that WAY back when he had said it was unlikely, but I missed that particular statement.hoffman2k wrote:David Z. stated that with M4L 1.0, you wont be able to build a device like Corpus which has the MIDI sidechain.
You need a satellite device to intercept the MIDI for your audio device.
Another one which I am very interested in which won't be in V1.0 is the ability to build a stereo-in, multiple output device (without using tricks like Send~/Receive~ and satellite devices).
