I think that the thing is not about to believe or not what it is told in this movie. Paranoïa or not...
The only important thing is to never forget that the power is criminality by nature.
You could say: "and Gandhi?"...
Ok, go to India and let's see...
One would believe what one would not about 9/11 and so on...
But who can say that this scene about media and especially television power is conspiracy and paranoïa? This is reality. And this means a LOT.
"We eat television; we dress television, we think television..."
The idea behind this film is just that we are slaves and that we do love our slavery.

Whatever. Can someone say that Bush and Co are not awfull criminals? I don't think so.
But the problem with this kind of movie it's that it always serves the people that it denouciates.
Conclusion: intellectual education is as a slavery as redneck's one

(and sorry for my english)
My tongue spits english like a frog and my head is currently searching for a comprehensive language.
And I shit here

Enough with the shock video, too much use of 9/11 video, atrocities, I get it, I don't need to be beat over the head with shock.

Opening bit about us being lied to is a bit much. Chrisitans truly believe that stuff, we're not being lied to, we're being led by the insane believers of the invisible boogey man in the sky. You have to know you're being misleading to lie.
Interesting bit about the sun being the source of mythology across the ages. Makes sense. With the word play (M for names of analogous Moses figures) I'd like to learn more about the language connections. I do get that as one culture goes to war/takes over/absorbs another culture they take the subservant culture's mythology and blends it with their own, it subdues the masses and makes the new culture easier to swallow. Opiate of the people.

OK, now it's another 9/11 shockumentary. Why, why, why??? This is lame, why take a perfectly good start debunking religion and get into 9/11?? IMO we could have video of Bush and Bin Laden discussing the WTC attacks with speaches, Lego models and interpretive dance with the DVD signed by both of them and a notary public and it would not matter. We need to be proactive about today. 9/11 conspiracies are just farting in the wind. I buy into them but I don't see the point.

I'll watch the rest waiting for a tie into religion, I fear it's only going to be "they lie about religion, they lie about 9/11". ho hum...

I agree I liked the segment about religion, even though Jesus was more based on orpheus and dionysus than horace. The part about 9/11 was unnecessary I could have done without that. If you are as interested in the pagan origins of religion as I am, you should check out this study conducted on the origins of jesus by a young historian Rook Hawkins. http://www.rationalresponders.com/jesus ... vised_2008

Here is his accessment for the origins of the jesus myth.

Do you believe that Jesus was a composite of Pagan Gods?

Short answer: Yes and no. Longer answer: Jesus is a composite of many different elements, and it honestly depends on which Jesus you’re talking about in order to really make this distinction. If we are looking at Paul’s Jesus, then his savior is a combination of Orphic, Essenic and Rabbincal traditions, reflecting some themes from each. If we read Mark’s Gospel alone, Jesus is a composite of five elements: (1) Moses (2) Joshua (3) Homer’s epics (specifically Odysseus) (4) the Hebrew scriptures (mainly the prophets) (5) and Orpheus. Matthew’s Jesus is decidedly more Jewish, although Orphic themes show through because Matthew, like Mark, is interpreting Paul’s letters which contain these themes. Luke’s Jesus is both anti-Marcionite but pro-Pauline. John’s Gospel is a specific type of Gnosticism, which has its roots in Jewish and Greek mystery cults. They mostly reflect Orphic and Dionysian traditions, and thus reflect Orpheus and Dionysus.

The claim that Jesus is a compilation of other Egyptian and Eastern demi-Gods is not founded in any fact. Jesus reflects Egyptian culture because of the Diasporic influence of Egyptian culture on exiled Jews living in Egypt. The Hebrew Scriptures, more than Jesus, reflect more Egyptian influence than anything else. And because the Gospel authors are interpreting scripture, the influence comes through. But there is no direct influence from Horus or Osirius, and there is certainly no evidence at all of eastern traditions like Krishna or Buddha having an influence on the authors of the Gospels—or even Jews in general. This is outdated scholarship that lacks serious evidence required to make such assumptions. I do not support it. The only pagan God that has any direct effect on Christianity is Orpheus, and in some cases Dionysus. And the evidence for this is overwhelming.

For sheer entertainment value, nothing beats Spaceballs.

Though Zeitgeist comes close.

Spaceballs was at least realistic.

Funny though. There's like a half dozen of these 'important' and 'eye opening' films out there that say almost exactly the same things....only instead of blaming Old Rich White Dudes And Their Christian God, they blame the Jews. -10 points for utter lack of originality.

Fuck me yellow. You just fucking KNOW you're in a world of cinematic and conspiracy theory hurt when the filmmaker is so God Damn desperate that he's got to pull that old Power quote chestnut out of the closet. You know the one:

"Power Corrupts. Absolute Power Corrupts Absolutely"

omfg. *groan* *barf* *puke* *groan* omfg

In a movie and genre that's fraught with cliches, we've hit the motherload here, people.

You know, there's some serious shit that goes on in this world and motherfuckers like this douchebag aren't doing any of us any favors by not focusing on the real issues and instead diving into X-Files territory.

The fucking LEAST this asshole could have done is thrown a Roswell reference in there. I mean WHAT THE FUCK KIND OF CONSPIRACY NUT IS HE, ANYWAY??? No Roswell connection??? Fuck you.

Fucktard.

I'm just gonna post this again so you can have the historical perspective on whether jesus was real or not. Zeitgeist is inaccurate on a whole lot of levels and many of my pothead friends have been obsessing over it for too long. This movie fits in really well with the David Icke crowd, but thats a whole other mountain of bullshit. Anyway please read this....

How many people here are willing to have the RFID chip?

I'd be interested in how many of you would and those that wouldn't...

...and this isn't a no brainer question.

Isn't this a great first post?....

Hmm. I typed in GOD in the 'what are you looking for' section, and Imogen Heap came up as the answer; which is perfect, really. I've come to her music late, but DAMN it's the fucking shit. Who doesn't love a chick in hot Gypsy clothes who uses Ableton Live?

Zimovane, you've only got 3 posts (compared to my whopping 400) - and your one of the Island Monkeys - but I like you already. You can stay.

incontinence on many levels
- trolling
- swearing
- capitalization
- fact checking
- lying my ass off
- giving bad advice
- posting too much
- masturbation
- drinking
- smoking
- sleeping
- being late
- picking my nose
- farting
- bad breathe
- showering
- shaving
- violence towards children and the elderly (can't help myself, why did god make them so feeble if he didn't want me to push them around?! if they die, that's what jesus is for.)
- diarrhea

too many to list, where shall we begin?

OR I CAN JUST SWITCH TO CAPITAL LETTERS ALL THE TIME.

Typing "God" into the search engine yields unprofessional and unpredictable results.

Try "the royal family".

Hopefully you'll be turned on to the sounds of "Manure Heap".

You're welcome.
