Errrh, didn't the Live price dropped a bit while the upgrade price has gone up ?
Am I wrong or isn't it kinda weird ?
Yep - I noticed that too...oh well it better be worth it!

You sure about this? I see Operator 8 only listed under the Suite section. I hope you're right and I'm wrong, but I'm a bit worried I'll have to fork out some more cash just to upgrade Operator.
Thought I saw Robert say that somewhere. Can't find it now, too many threads to wade through. But that's the way it's always worked in the past as well (admittedly, this is the biggest upgrade I've seen to an instrument).
This is something we need the low down on. Abes?

Cheers, you mean this:

Yeah, again we're second-guessing everything here, but that could be taken to mean just backwards compatibility and nothing to do with pricing. I guess we'll have to wait and see...
Good point. The Live 8 information page and video makes out that you only get the upgraded Operator by buying the Suite edition.
In my opinion that's somewhat unfair.

According to Peter Kirn over at Create Digital Music, the new Library revamp, Collision, Latin Instruments and new operator are in the Suite

Would like this confirmed from Abes though, with the coupon I think I’ll get the download suite.

I just dropped customer care an email asking about this. I'll post whatever answer I get, as I guess many people are in the same boat.

Dunno if this has been answered already in the meantime, but I got an answer from Ableton Support: free upgrade from L7 Operator to Operator 8 for me. Lovely!
