Funny you should recommend these guys. At last year's SXSW I had stumbled across the opportunity to see Hanson, which I did just to say that I did...here and now, apparently.
My observations of this minor sociological experiment concluded that Taylor Hanson is a pretty decent drummer.
And no, we didn't stick it out for the MMM Bop closer, as we had to get to the Low End Theory night to see some Nosaj Thing.
And that stark contrast, in my opinion is the beauty of SXSW.

Have the recommendations stopped coming because I admitted to attending a Hanson concert last year?
Anyways, here's a fresh link for the lineup for page two. Some of the artist I like the most are Ween and Prince and Amon Tobin so hopefully that can give a gauge for recommendations.

a good friend of mine here is making the long trip there with his band called I am David Sparkle
they do post-rock-ish stuff if you're into that kinda thing
