I have a feeling this design will closely represent the architecture of the G5 Powerbook in terms of processor and FSB.

that's one cool box,
but i wouldn't go for it personally... it's more like a big hint at what's around the corner!
can't wait to see what comes out next year!!

i always thought of the imac, as the wimpy runt of the mac line. i have to admit this one is pretty tough. i guess imacs have come a long way.
i'm still holding out for a G5 powerbook.
long live the runt

Yep, me too, although that new iMac is nevertheless very nice...
Re the Powercore Firewire, it's twice the CPU of the PCI...but twice the price.

powercore should be max 1000 bucks. my unemployment checks can hardly cover the 1500. damn.
Isn't it funny how the iMac makes major news? If apple's good at one thing it's turning heads. Now if they could only bump their benchmarks so people would actually consider spending twice the money on a box half as fast.

I think is a nice thing for the office. I´d buy one for the every day work.
I´m still using a 12" G3 Ibook for the internet stuff, P2P, writing, graphic designing and as DVD player for the TV. Apples are compact and well made computers. For making music now I´m using a Toshiba laptop and I´m very happy with it too, I use it for live performing. I was using the Ibook til now.
