You need to write back formally.

1. You should request a copy of their evidence so your solicitor can view it (doesnt matter if you're not actually going to do this)

2. You will vacate the property in line with the terms of your contract.

3. You expect return of deposit in full following the departure inspection of the property which you will attend with your solicitor. (Get a friend to qwear a suit and look solicitorish with a copy of your rental agreement in hand)
What he said! Sounds like you a getting a bum deal there, chap. Be on it!

Yeah - I'm sorting it.... I have a friend who is a real solicitor, which helps.

Anyways: there's being cheated and there's being cheated.

Moaning that your gearlust cost you some cash that you could have saved if you'd been able to see into the future is superdoublepluslame.

Christ all I was saying was I feel that ableton could have given it's early adopters a fairer deal and yes a lesson learned certainly won't be making the same mistake again.... Sorry to hear about you'd misfortune that is truly harsh but in no way was I trying to equate my post with something like that .... This is a forum about live right?

it's still your mistake to buy something that you.. well, not get.. :) it was clear defined from the beginning. you upgraded to live 8, which has tons of awesome features, one of it, being extendable later this year with max4live. extendable.

O my god that's what I just said I won't be making that mistake again! I always understood what extendable but thought it would have been along sooner and would be a more reasonable price. It seems that I have accidently peronally offended some of because I have an opinion ???? WTF ???

yes, because you behave like all others that realize "omg, i have to pay for max, like they always said, but i hoped to be special". well, you're not. nobody is. they LIFE from that money, they need it, and they deserve it. early adopters always cry, that's nothing new. i've seen tons of people now complain "don't i get win7 for free, i mean, i've done the beta test!!" and such.

and yes, this does offend me, as it's annoying to everyone, but espencially the software developers who work hard and deserve the cach you "lost on them".

No, it was your preposterous rant about how Ableton should be giving you the moon on a stick because you 'bought early' that pissed me off. That's about as misguided an opinion as you can get...

what he said.

and I wasn't equating your horrifically unjust experience with my relatively minor misfortune either.... I was doing the opposite. Demonstrating that they are not equal - highlighting the innate relativity of human experience and implying that you should stop moaning.

I don't think I was upset. maybe just a semantics thing, e.g I am a little miffed that we loyal customers don't get much in the way of bonus goodies rather than, I feel cheated due to a slightly unrealistic expectation.

We have had the odd voucher to use every now and then for example, s'nice.

Plus, Abes have a business to run. Get a few new users in with a tempting offer is simply good business sense.

I mean, how many times do you see something you bought on sale for less than you paid for it?

I actually can't even be bothered arguing - wasn't asking for the moon just maybe some dosh off ? Really not getting all the hating ???? I just wondered if anyone else felt miffed or bought on a misguided manner? Obviosly not ! Many apologies as I appear to have used abletons name in vain ..... Get your point bout sales I just thought that I didn't get what it said on the tin. Obviously I just misread ......

I live in a shitty rental house in Oxford. Oxford is officially the UK's least affordable city - I pay a lot of money for this house (which I share with a housemate).

The house has terribly energy efficiency and suffers from penetrating and rising damp. The only way to combat the damp is to crank up the heating, which costs us a fortune - largely because of the terrible insulation.

I suffer from asthma and I have had an almost constant chest infection since I moved into this house. My doctor says its likely to be exacerbated by the black mold that just keeps coming back, no matter how hard we try to keep things clean.

The other day, I discovered that two of my pillows, the edge of my duvet , my only suit, my rather natty trilby, my studio chair and the sofa are all going showing signs of mold.

I've been negotiating with the letting agent for a while - trying to make them see that if they reduce the rent slightly, we'll be able to spend more on heating the house and help avoid damage to the property.

Yesterday, they sent us a letter, saying they were going to kick us out of the house and take our full deposit because they had evidence that we had caused "serious structural damage to the property through negligence".

I feel cheated.
sue your landlord, i sued mine they settled out of court for just under 10k.
