when I could use it as a midi controller without wifi(!) I will probably get one. otherwise not.

From what I can tell from the last iPhone OS update this type thing would already be possible through the main port adaptor but it would take a third party to make the cable/adaptor because Apple probably isn't interested. They're all about wireless wifi everything.

I didn't see any explosion of third party hardware for the iPhone because it probably wasn't worth it. It probably will be for the iPad.

They hope (believe?) that flash will die because it doesn't run on apple mobile kit rather than the other way around. From now on anything that doesn't fit in with their vision of a multitouch, button free user interface won't be allowed.

My guess is that they're affraid people would play flash games on it or stream music with flashy websites, otherwise they will loose customers for the appstore/itunes
