Nevermind I got it to work it just does not show the little arrow in FL it only triggers the pattern so I thought it was not working.

yeah I've been using the FL Studio & Ableton Combination for a while now, I usually use FL Studio for my drum parts rewired into Ableton. It's a terrific team using both of those programs, although I've never used these two like this I'll be trying this out tonight! This is a huge benefit to be able to trigger patterns like this and have the drum parts separated in Ableton.

still

HHMMMM! I have my drums set up in fruity slicer. I think i have the midi synced but only individual drums are coming out from a chopped break in flslicer. Although this is interesting, i still wanna just trigger the whole pattern...any guess whats going one>?

I followed all the directions and i can trigger the patterns but for some reason they only seem to play as one shots as opposed to looping, any ideas?

that's right they do trigger the patterns as one shots, so you have to make a clip in Live with a long note (let live handle the 'loop'). Each time that clip plays you will get a Fruity clip playing it's length.

sorry to anyone who has asked me to help them get this working - I've been to busy to help out as I've been overloaded with work this week.

Ok, I'm not really having a problem in terms of getting the whole fruity loop to play. But i want to be able to make it loop. I'm working with live musicians - droping the beats and bass e.t.c, I would like to be able to drop my loops and for them to continue looping so that i concentrate on mixing the rest of the composotion. Is that possible through this fruity/ableton combo?

yes, you should get a loop out of it by entering a single long note in a Live midi clip in session to trigger the fruity pattern. Everytime the Live clip loops it will re-trigger the fruity loop.

just like everytime you press a certain key it will start the fruity pattern and play it once - simply automate that re-pressing by recording the 'pressing of the key' into a session clip. do you get it?

quite simple. record midi note into midi session clip - that will trigger teh fruity pattern, when the midi session clip loops the note plays again and the fruity pattern plays again.

Sorry mate. I'm an absolute rookie with ableton. Do you mean record in clip view or overview. Do i need to draw notes for each of the different patterns or will 1 note allow me to loop every pattern?

Should the midi track be armed to record. I just want to use this in the same basic fashion as fruity live mode - e.g press key it will start to loop, press again it stops looping.

i have tried to do what you said but i can't get it to work. i'm probably missing something really obvious

hmm,

in Session, if you are using Fruity as a VSTi and you can play notes in that channel and the notes play back as fruity patterns ..

start a midi clip recording - play a few notes so that they are triggering the fruity patterns.

play back the clip in session, does it still trigger the fruity patterns?

it should do ...

yeah it triggers them, but the loops stops them half way through and in a disjointed manner. and also many of fruity patterns are different lengths
