Want to play in a particular key? Just use a C Major or C Minor Scale MIDI effect and transpose it to your desired key. Now the white keys (C Major scale) of your MIDI controllers are the actual degrees of your scale.

Want to use the triads corresponding to your scale? Just put a major triad Chord MIDI effect behind your Scale MIDI effect and, voila! All your 7 basic scale chords ready to be arranged into a basic progression, tweaked and altered to more complex, interesting chords, fed into an arpeggiator, etc.

That is just wrong. The major scale and natural minor scales each have only 3 major triads, along with 3 minor triads and 1 diminished. Playing major triads from each note in your scale will not be conforming to the key you're in.

Why would I suggest a "chord & arpegiator" since your need is a scale tool ?

[EDIT] this tool is very skilled about scales ; and a MIDI keyboard isn't even mandatory.

Oh and just in case, it works better on Live (8 or 9 no matter) and is both 32-bit and 64-bit for both MacOS and Windows.
