religion is a road map. as humans tend to, they get caught up in the messenger and sidestep the message (idolatry ffs). GO TEAM! ...or... YOUR TEAM SUX! :x

"the lamp of the body is the eye. when thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light"
- J. Christ

in other words... when you open your mind's eye you can focus on the truth.
There is a very interesting movie (the name slips my memory) where a guy supposedly doesn't die. And he didn't since humanity began. He has kind of a rough life, because every 10 years he has to leave everyone he knows/loves, so it doesn't get too obvious he doesn't age. Anyways in this story they imply that he was Jesus by accident (he really didn't mean to be) and that he became him because he was talking about things to the people in Rome that he had heard Buddha teach when he was in India 500 years earlier... It was an interesting take on things.
Try to remember the title.
The man from earth (2007)
It's somewhat like a theater piece, but very good!

Mmmm blue ringers... i used to self pick too. i grew up in south Texas... the humidity and abundance of cows made that type of spiritual journey easy to come by... after it rained, that is.
As nice as shrooms are for this, they have NOTHING on real acid!

Tool verse: I know the pieces fit, because I've seen them fall appart...

I have seen them fall apart too...
I don't say this to chest-thump, but I've done my fair share of both. I can honestly say I would never do either again. I think they're helpful for dense and rigid people to break down the barriers, but they're definitely not to be for prolonged use.

Sorry, Galt with tears of Salt,
We've derailed your thread into a drum-circle-jerk.
I think Albert Hoffman deserves a Noble price for the discovery of LSD!
And yet I have only taken it twice! The expereience of a lifetime, but every time this comes up again: I'm like: Nah, not yet, I'm not quite ready yet!

I do not pretend to own anything. That said, I'm more than happy, if a little surprised, to see my totally random stab at atheists derail into mushrooms. Ain't nothing I don't like about mushrooms.

i'm with Scott... i have no use for acid anymore. i won't take it... but then, i took it WAY more than twice. having said that, i am not at all opposed to peyote or mushrooms... but they will find me when the time is right. i no longer look for them. every few years they show up... and [if] everything falls into place and seems right when they do . as if they were sent to me... but i know, i know... this is way too spiritual for the non-believer.

I treat it the same way.
