I don't feel lazy to agree with the original author of the post. Impossibility of scrolling to a particular position within the previewed track is a serious limitation for *DJs*.

It won't work with non-warped clips or new files.

Hm its working here with any file , even mp3 files which I have never opened in live before? You need to
disable RAW tho to make that work.

You may also have to have automatic warping of long files enabled in the preferences (wich I for example don't).

It isn't working here both with RAW switched on and off:

The previous guys were correct, it only works if you have Auto Warping for long Samples enabled in Preferences.

Look, it does not ALWAYS work even with "Auto-Warp Long Samples" enabled in the Preferences. I think it depends on what Live considers as "long samples"... For example, I have a 30 second sample, which I was previewing in the browser, which I consider to be long enough to be able to scroll to a certain position, however, Live did not let me do that.
Same with many other clips.

In fact, not being able to scroll to any position within an unwarped track, both during preview or while a clip is playing in the session view is IMHO a serious shortcoming.

I think you should demo Tracktion 5 honestly. It addresses a number of the points you mention.

What I have learned over time, is that there is no perfect system.
You can either worry about things or just make music...

You're right that you need to just make the music. However, no matter what you need to learn the new environment as you do that. It took me a year to "get" Live after using Logic for all those years. I think it was worth it, but I understand that you can feel frustrated when Live doesn't work as expected.
