The problem is that wifi either doesn't work, or when it does, it doesn't network with the laptop. If both of those things work for people, I doubt they are lamenting lack of SD technology. Especially since this is supposed to be a 5+ year device and SD is a bit long in the tooth.

Wifi is a good thing as long as you stay at home and your wifi networks are always properly registered.
as soon as you move, it can quickly become a pain...
don't get me wrong, this function is great, but the fact that it's the only option is annoying...
even without an sd card slot a good old-fashioned USB connection would do the trick

I could see the USB functionality get developed over time. Maybe this could happen.
