I actually haven't used the compressor for quite a while. It is a decent all rounder, but these days I use the api, ssl or v series from waves, or just recently the Pro-C from fabfilter. Prior to that I had been using the Sonalksis.

I used Detailer as the final mastering plug for my last CD.I thought it did a great job of bringing the levels up without over compressing.

Do you guys know if the licenses are transferable? And if so, would any of you be willing to sell these plugs?

I also use Pro-C and Sonalksis TBK3 for drums, and Sonalksis SV-315mkII for bass. However, I've been having a blast using Pro-C on the master mix with its parrallel preset.

Sorry for the hijack.

I never really got on with the RND limiter either, though it's got some interesting functions wher you can vary the mount of limiting based on signal strength.

Honestly I bet I use Sonalksis plugs in far more than any other, very transparent for small adjustment, feed more signal into them and they get a bit more character. Definitely my favorite plugs for dynamics control, I'm eagerly awaiting their new mastering limiter due out very soon.

If I had a nickel for the number of threads I've jacked! So please feel free to discuss whatever comes to mind. Hell, you can even talk about Paris Hilton's favorite compressor.

I just need to make a really good decision on what to get by next Friday. Kjaerhus is having a sale, and I really need figure out if that's going to best serve my purposes. I don't have a ton of cash, which is why I'm staying away from Waves or URS or even Sonalksis. I also want a few tools that I know really well, so those are my real motivations.

Download the demo of Pro-C - it blew me away.
