It took time, experience, usage and the transition from 4 - 5 - 6, and now 7 to come to my conclusions. I dont see how my post count is at odds with what I have to say, if anything it can only validate it IMO. would you be more inclined to believe a guy who just showed up ?

OK BounCy...I'll bite your troll-flavoured hook like an idiot.
3 Good reasons TO buy Live
1. You can't get a stable K-ed version

2. Their support IME has been second to none
3. It's Live. Ain't nothing as good out there right now.
You really are a dick aren't you? You know that though, eh?

b0unce wrote:1. it's over priced
2. you are beneath their contempt
3. they spend their time coding the next paid-for-product, not working on the problems the current version has. sometimes they do work on those problems, in the next version. which you pay for. like a good, dosile little bitch
4. it's a cult
5. they have hired saddam hussein's lawyer to deal with customer complaints
6. they partner up with companies like m-audio. quality or market share. quality or market share? quality....market share.... , market share please satan and a new beamer "right you are so gherard, should the beamer be pink as usual ?"
7. guys like 'beats me' hang out here
8. content sellers are constantly grooming you, waiting to get their sticky claws onto your wallet. this is the perfect place to sell content, a cult populated by sycophants who by definition of paying for the product and showing their pearly whites - have a loose ass.
9. it never ends, you will find yourself upgrading because they either fix a bug in the next version, or put something critical into it like dualcore support, 64bit engines etc...the version you buy will languish, it has no future....when you buy into ableton you are STARTING A SUBSCRIPTION and nothing more.
10. cos b0unce seh so.
Bounce's mom and dad must have left for vacation leaving the ginger Scot troll all by "hisself"...
Look what he can do with all that free time now!
WHOP-WHOP-YEAH!!!

how does a software company not spend their time working on the next version?
they'd either have to get it all exactly perfect the first time, which is impossible, or sell the product to everyone once and offer free upgrades forever.
content sellers groom you!?!? now i haven't been a customer for that long but i've never experienced this. and if ableton did do that - why in the fuck would they contact you of all people?
have you ever thought that maybe the problem is not with Ableton and that maybe, just maybe, you're a complete fucking tard?

a: to clarify, I mean they put
most of their resources into the next version, not what you just paid for. so it takes 8 god damn months to fix your problem, instead of 2.
b: I'm a tard? do you think so ? ....so I guess all those nki libraries I bought, that live 6.0.10 can't import, and all the emails with ableton support acknowledging it's their problem and they will *eventually* fix it [in live7, not live6] ....well, I guess I'm imagining that. or making it up. kool! thanks for your input!
here's the bug report, march 4th. the bug is not gonna be squashed in live6. it's taken 8 months, to get it to work in live7. for the last 8 months they have still advertised SAMPLER as being nki compatible. in plain. simple. english. lies, in otherwords.

No, actually I think he does.
But is this what you would do if you were in his position?

I for one think bounce has a valid reason for being pissed off. But I still think a person should buy live cause it kicks ass.

But how long do you stay pissed off about something before you just straight up ask for your money back?
Is that not possible with Ableton? (I really don't know)

I've been known to raise hell when I get pissed off, but no, I don't think I would handle it the same way. b0unce is punk rock.
Regardless, even though this is someone I've never met and probably never will meet, I have to say I quite like b0unce. I think he contributes quite a bit.

It's ok to be pissed off about things like that. Myself, I had good only experiences with ableton tech support, and I like this software alot, this is the only sequencer I know that let the « happy accident » happens so often when I record on the fly with it.
Of course, live is far from being perfect but this is more the kind of post I feel to write on the NI forums for nearly the exact same reasons ( except they did hired the little Jeremy who sang for the pope on the tech support )
