Are there any drawbacks? I was told by support that Live complies to Steinberg's VST Standard to the letter and that NI changed their plugins one by one which seems to cause the problems. There surely must be a reason why Live handles this different by default. So will we break anything by applying this option?Windows only: If the DebugOption “-_EnsureKeyMessagesForPlugins” is set in the Options.txt, we make sure that all key messages reach a plugin’s window in front. That way, edit fields are again editable in the NI VST plug-ins. On the downside, key messages do not reach Live anymore as soon as some objects in the window of the VST plug-in are selected. Thus, for example, once an edit field has been edited, Live’s playback cannot be started via Space until Live’s main window regains focus.
Next Live 7.0.2 Beta available: Live 7.0.2b3!
We cannot answer that question at the current time, and for that reason it is "Options.txt" file entry only and not the default behavior. So will we break anything by applying this option?
In general the drawback is that on certain conditions, keystrokes do not reach Live anymore when a certain plug-in windows is opened.
The basic idea in Live is to forward a certain keystroke to an opened plug-in window or to Live. So that for instance, you can have focused the VST plug-in but still can use the Space key to start/stop Live. There surely must be a reason why Live handles this different by default.

If you mean the drawing before the 1.1.1 marker, that should be fixed since 7.0.2b2:What about this especially the pencil draw envelope bug

When using a clip with the 1.1.1 marker somewhere within the clip, it would not be possible to draw any linked clip envelope before the 1.1.1 clip start marker.

This doesn't appear to be working for me.. I'm trying to rename destination assignments in Kore 2 and it won't send keyboard input to the channels.Clearscreen wrote:not so much a fix as a workaround - might be better in the long run though...arachnaut wrote:Alex wrote: Windows only: If the DebugOption “-_EnsureKeyMessagesForPlugins” is set in the Options.txt, we make sure that all key messages reach a plugin’s window in front. Editing in Reaktor works fine with this fix.
Also, my preferences.cfg file is located at
C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Application Data\Ableton\Live 7.0.1\Preferences
which, according to the options.txt FAQ should only be for Live 5??
Win Live 5: C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Application Data\Ableton\Live [version]\Preferences\Options.txt
