For me, the best bet is self study.
I looked into getting certified for Logic, and I decided that for now, it wouldn't be such a great idea. Logic has a two or three day class that costs $1500. That's for level 1 certification, for level 2, it's another $1500 weekend course.
Funny thing is, Apple Pro Training Series books are the course curriculum and they're available to anyone. You can get both level 1 and 2 books on Amazon for $80 or less. If you wanted to later, you can do the certification tests (paying less usually).
Anyhow, I've been reading the Cert books for Logic, the manual, watching videos, reading other books on the basics behind Logic, and I know, eventually I'll get to be exactly where I want to be.
I just got Live 7 yesterday, played with it for the first time today. I've got the gist of it all pretty much. Now all I gotta do is learn work-flow. I'm learning with the built in tutorials, the manual, and a Live 6 Power book.
And of course, there are places like this where good people get together and learn a good deal from one another.
