As said previously, we will try , and try we did, until this happened . . .

We tried stuffing around for ages and was sure it wasn't correct and then this obvious method by a simple cable "seems" to do the trick ,
although some 'genie-arse' could let us know about sync/latency , etc,
it gets all rather confusing on the live preferences, but i'm quite happy so far with having Logic instruments in Live

We haves an < optical/toslink/digital > cable from the mac built-in-digital output connected to our soundcard (MOTU Traveler)

so the midi-audio setup is like this
Image

the Logic preference like so

the Live preferences comme ça
Image

you can see reason rewire in live and combining a lead from Logic and a bass from Pro 53

We likes too much reason combinator drum machines,( which rip shit btw)

So Reason drum Machines, Logic synths (whatever), running thru Live where it can all be re-sampled . . . mmm, looking forward to this "awesome threesome" , anyone else tried it like so ?

So please tell us exactly how to do this without cable, (yes we feel dumb, only apprentice sound-persons we are) can't seem to folllow 'Gomi's' tip to the letter...
or does the cable method does just as good ?

Can we see some picture(s) of your preference(s), pleez :D

Easy as, first capture with "grab", find it in utilities

then upload to your host, putfile, etc, photobucket in our case

then that should give you "fancy" screenshots

waiting for "in-depth", sunday nite movie is nearly over . . . :D

here's a link to a thread i started in tips and tricks. this of course would be possible with any program, save maybe protools, i just laid the example out for logic in live.
http://www.ableton.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=86976

i might edit it a little, if it is a little confusing. hth.

Sound flower worked for me, pretty straight forward and an excellent way of routing Main stages excellent keyboards and synths into Live. Cheers folks!!!

Hello

I have a problem. I've got Ableton and Mainstage setup as you said. I am creating a midi track in Live, Mainstage receives MIDI notes but is not playing them. Mainstage is only playing when i press my keyboard. Thank you for your help

... found the solution: hardware input (keyboard) in mainstage was missing ...
